September 11th, 1987- Paula Abdul wins the "Best Choreography" trophy for Janet Jackson's "Nasty" at the fourth annual MTV Video Music Awards, held at the Universal Amphitheater, Universal City, CA.
This further establishes her reputation as the leading American pop dance choreographer, and her talent is commissioned for video clips promoting ZZ Top (she creates the "Velcro Fly" dance step), Duran Duran, Debbie Gibson and even Warren Zevon and Dolly Parton, among others.
