Lorraine Abdul, the mother of pop star Paula Abdul, has reportedly died at 85.

She passed away last Sunday in California, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Paula has not commented on her mother's passing, and a rep did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Paula, 55, did share a poignant message to social media about savoring moments in life on Tuesday.

"This moment from my visit to Israel is one I think of often," she tweeted. "Pausing to watch all the vibrant life going on. EVERY MOMENT of life should be savored & treasured, whether we're alone or w/ people we love. When can you pause today to appreciate life?"

She shared a similarly meaningful tweet about family on Wednesday.

"I’m SO grateful for my family & the depth of our roots," she wrote. "My heart couldn’t be fuller when I see how we continue to grow in love & support for one another. I hope you all cultivate “deep roots” & the strength to stand strong when the winds come."

Lorraine Abdul, who hailed from the Canadian province of Manitoba, was also a professional musician, making a name for herself as a concert pianist.

She also worked in the film industry as an assistant to Billy Wilder, the famed director behind movie classics such "Sabrina," which starred Humphrey Bogart and Audrey Hepburn, "The Apartment" starring Jack Lemmon and Shirley McClain and "Some Like It Hot," which was headline by Marilyn Monroe.

Lorraine and her husband Harry raised Paula and her older sister, Wendy, in North Hollywood before they split in the late 1960s.
