X Factor legend Paula Abdul is set to make a return to the series for the All Stars series.

She judged on the American version of the show alongside Simon Cowell nearly a decade ago, and now Simon is bringing her back for All Stars.

She was also a judge on American Idol for seven years.

The show will see past winners of the show compete to the ultimate champion.

Former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger will return to the celebrity edition of the show, but can't make it for All Stars because of other work commitments.

A TV insider told The Sun : "Paula is a close friend of Simon's and they've always kept in touch since working together in America.

"She is part of the Syco family and they all work closely together. Paula and Simon have great on-screen chemistry and their banter is funny and entertaining.

"Simon feels comfortable sitting next to her and knows they'll have a laugh and wind each other up, which will make for electric and entertaining viewing.

"Simon has handed her a lucrative contract to ensure she's happy and it's worth her while financially."

Rumours are swirling about who will appear on the show, with fans speculating the lineup could include Alexandra Burke, Shane Ward and Fleur East.

While which stars will be taking to the stage remains shrouded in mystery, the lineup for the celeb edition of the show, which kicks of in October, has been confirmed.

Stars include former Towie babe Megan McKenna, football legend Vinnie Jones, and a group of Love Islanders.

The group is made up of Samira Mighty, Zara McDermott, Eyal Booker and Wes Nelson.

They're all alums of the villa from 2018, and Eyal is looking to show his worth, saying: "We want to prove we're more than just reality stars."
